Construction ended for the two residential buildings for a total of 43 apartments and common spaces on the ground floor in via Olgiati, Milan. The buildings proudly show their characteristic facing-brick façade, referencing the traditional Milanese constructions from the Navigli neighbourhood. The project was funded by the French real estate developer Nexity; the architectural design was signed by studio BEMaa, while coordination, structural design and architectural design engineering by SIO s.r.l.; finally, system design and fire safety were developed by the associate study Faletti Zenucchi.

Today SIO is excited to celebrate the inauguration of its new headquarters in Bergamo. Strategically located in Viale Vittorio Emanuele II, 12, the multi-storey structure offers a dynamic workspace in the city centre and a view on the wonderful Città Alta, inspiring the whole team of engineers and architects.

Strategically located in Viale Vittorio Emanuele II, 12, the multi-storey structure offers a dynamic workspace in the city centre and a view on the wonderful Città Alta, inspiring the whole team of engineers and architects.
SIO gladly announces that construction works ended in Via Faravelli, Milan, for two residential buildings, one L-shaped and one parallel to the long side of the block, forming an internal courtyard used as a communal garden overlooked by terraces. The complex presents itself to the street with an evident facade grid, wide glazed surfaces and movable louvres, except from the attic where the building steps back, leaving space for broad terraces and a different finishing.
The project was funded by the French real estate developer Nexity; the architectural design was signed by STAI architetto, while coordination, structural design and architectural design engineering by SIO s.r.l.; finally, system design and fire safety were developed by the associate study VIO.

Given its symbolic value, it was decided to save it, finding a way to relocate the structure without any damage.
With the precious support of Fagioli s.p.a. and under the supervision of SIO, the 3.2-by-33-metre chimney was successfully moved! This subtle operation has been preceded by a careful design phase by both SIO and Fagioli, which led to the use of a skid element and a custom-made frame to connect the whole chimney to its base. The actual movement happened throughout a whole week, granting constant analyses by the team.
