The winning project realized by the group led by UNO-AArchitetti Associati will be the new iconic headquarters ofthe renovated TIM group.

The project will be developed on 100,000 square meters,and will be one of the first examples of urban regenerationin Italy, able to restore harmony between the historic complex designed by architect Ligini and the fabric of the historical EUR district. The aim of the project is the preservation, respect and the evolution of the original 1950sconcept design of the building. The three main towers are characterized by an innovative, high-performance shell capable of hosting, meeting and comfort places developed on different heights and rich of green common areas. It will become one of the European corporate headquarters with the lowest environmental impact, will host 5.000employees, offering services like gym and crèche. It will also develope a green and biological system at the ground floor.

The accomplishment of the intervention will be guaranteed by the structural design that provides for the elimination of the towers internal stairs and for the creation of an interesting vertical development of a frame system made by steel tubular structure, capable of dialoguing with the original and the contemporary structure. Particular attention was given to anti-seismic aspect, developing a system of joints and dampers able to let the original structures work within the new regulatory requirements.

SIO took care of the final structural design, developing the project with the BIM methodology for a proper and optimized relationship between the architectural, structural and MEP disciplines. The new TIM headquarters were developed with methodologies that look to the future, in addition to the use of BIM, the focus on consumption and the environment according to LEED standards make the project an example for the whole Italy.
