During the planning of this prestigious private villa, Simone Paoletti showed the architecture’s concept of imitation of the nature throughout his use of materials, colours and shapes.
The building recalls a shell in harmony with the landscape. The bamboo structures and the straw covering are inspired by the local building tradition.
The big wing of the roof covers the living area, creating a sensation of peace while the sleeping area is hosted in the part of the long arm of the building overlooking the sea, becoming a connection between the water and the earth.
The building which was badly damaged by fire during the final stages of construction has been the object of a structural redesign by SIO.
The original spatial grid structure, partially irreparably damaged, was the object of a new structural concept, which although it completely changed the roofing structure, was able to united the existing remaining structure with steel sections available locally. This avoiding the need to send a new roofing system from Europe.
