The project, planned by Lombardini22, is located inside a green park near Milan. A complex of 3 main buildings, of about 30,000 square metres, which communicate with each other through transparent and permeable connections, open onto the plaza and bring the green area into the buildings.
The square interacts with the surrounding park. Buildings which protect the square vary in height and size, give rhythm and dynamism to the complex.
Another building of about 2,300 square metres hosts the catering area and a car parking for 603 vehicles.
As well as the value engineering, SIO, carried out the final design of the foundations, proposing the conversion of the original system of strip foundation beams into a reinforced concrete slab foundation, and the optimization with relative design of the connecting joints between the two way flat slabs and steel columns of the façade.
In detail, this activity required the design of specific load bearing tests of the joints with a full-scale model.
The project, focused attention to the environmental sustainability issues, has the LEED certification and it has won the “Golden Brick” RE Real Estate Awards 2010 as the best sustainable project.
