Inside the Eastgate Park, the largest park of logistics industry and crafts of the Northeast of Italy with about 1.8 million square metres, the POLINS, designed by Marco Acerbis, was planned to develop new business strategies by merging the university world, the business consulting world and
the entrepreneurial world.
Large arches of 33 metres long, made of glulam, cover the whole volume, which is divided into a series of offices and a conference room for 150 visitors.
SIO planned the whole structural design (from concept to final design) and also carried out the supervision on-site.
The central element of the whole project is the roofing system, where the dimensions of the main curved beams, required a careful analysis of the lateral instability phenomena because of the lack cross-bracing elements for almost half of their development, which gives prominence to their elegant form.
